Grand support for Totton Three Score Club
More older people in Totton will be able to enjoy a social game of snooker at the town's Tree Score Club thanks to a £1,000 donation to refurbish a table.
The average age of people at the social club in Library Road is 75, where members, who often live alone, enjoy fun and friendship and take part in activities that also include line dancing, cards and table tennis.
Funding goes to boost women's group's pants power
Who Made Your Pants is an award-winning, innovative scheme providing employment for marginalised women and it was assisted by a cheque worth £3,000.
The money will help the organisation establish itself as a social enterprise offering flexible job opportunities turning fabric left over from big underwear companies into new pants. It supports women who are refugees from countries such as Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan.
